He and my brother Wally "Ox" Osterkorn were team mates on the Champion Syracuse Nationals in 1955 with Earl Lloyd first African American NBA player. They shared a victory and now Dolph is at peace being welcomed by Earl and Wally in Paradise. On behalf of my Dad, a devoted Nats fan throughout Dolph's career, and myself, a grade school kid who saw him play his last two years in Syracuse, coach the Braves in a War Memorial game in 1971, then met him at his Vine Street apartment building in 1976, Dolph was the basketball symbol of Syracuse in the 1950s-early 1960s.Mr. Great player and a true pioneer of pro basketball.
