they even done a first saftey check in my house Without making a fool of myself I thought I'd ask here first! They do what they do because they want to help people and want you to feel comfortable. The Fire Service is very community based these days, and by having young visitors to the station, demonstrates the importance of fire safety and the dangers of fire.
Be better if they could come to the house in their fire engine!

He says that their station only accomodates this sort of thing for schools or youth groups as part of educating children about fire safety, they don't entertain personal requests though. Don't think they will do home visit, although my friend called them to do a free fire safety check think on her house & they turned up with the fire engine - she was so embassered.You can visit the fire station, I know round here (Devon), they open up if you wanna walk in, they'll show you round the pumps and equipment, and round the rest of the place.If you contact Fire station you want to go to they will be happy to show your son around.
:mrgreen: I dont think it will matter that youre not part of an organised group as such as you will still have a group of children with you that can learn about fire safety as part of the tour.All depends on the individual Fire Stations I suppose.

Very often, our firefighters and paramedics spend long periods of their day running calls, without returning to the station or stopping to eat, and they frequently have to return to the grocery store several times to finish purchasing food that they might not get a chance to cook during the shift. I know from experience that I have seen little lads standing out the front of our station, in awe! Dramatic play involves children who take on a role and relate to other people and things as if they, too are something different than they really are. But not necessarily all the time or every firehouse or even every fire department.Many fire departments moved away from having trained Child Passenger Safety Technicians on duty. And if you need a local technician to do a car seat check of your seat, Do you offer low rate car seats for a single mom. By Pennsylvania state law, we do have certain privileges extended to us. This means that trained technicians (who complete a standardized AAA-certified course) are on hand to inspect and correct the installation of child safety seats. I know they obviously have open days so just wondered if we could do this for a birthday surprise? If you need smoke alarms and advice on fire safety, then the staff on station will be able to help also.
